In January 2003, Victor Film Company was acquired by
the Caparo Group and re-launched as AV Pictures Ltd with
Angad Paul as Chairman and Vic Bateman as Managing Director.
Since the formation of the company, AV Pictures' role has
expanded from international film sales agency to also incorporate
co-financing and production.
The company has a strong track record in creating value
for its buyers, by clearly focusing on delivering commercial
product across all genres, and by championing break-through
talent, such as Scott Mann ( The Tournament )
and Neil Marshall ( Dog Soldiers ), directors
who have continually proven the potential of new talent
to deliver theatrical thrills from independent productions.

The company library encompasses a range of genres with
titles including Black Water, The
Other Half, Daylight Robbery, Lesbian
Vampire Killers, The Tournament and Shank. AV's
recent line-up features suspense thriller The Holding,
supernatural thriller StormHouse, and Anuvahood,
the first spoof of the urban gangster genre.
The Mortician, a 3D dramatic thriller
starring the Wu-Tang Clan's Method Man, premiered
in the Panorama Section, Official Selection of the Berlin
International Film Festival 2011. Best Laid
Plans, from BAFTA & International Emmy-winning
director David Blair, is a bittersweet tale of an unusual
friendship starring Stephen Graham (Boardwalk Empire;
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy).
Taking a controversial yet timely look at the pandemic
of gang culture, Sket premiered at the
London Film Festival in October 2011, followed by a wide
theatrical release by Revolver. Also premiered by
AV during AFM 2011 was teen horror thriller Truth
Or Dare, a dark and inventive twist on the party
game.
Currently in post-production, Jump is
an exhilarating tale which takes place over the course
of one New Year's Eve, jumping between characters
and time. Also in post-production is Twenty8k,
an action thriller involving political corruption from
acclaimed writer Paul Abbott (State of Play) and
Jimmy Dowdall, starring Paraminder Nagra (ER, Alcatraz). Both
pictures will market premiere at the EFM Berlin 2012.
Hot from the success of Kidulthood, director
Menhaj Huda's Comedown is also in
post-production. An urban horror set in an abandoned
high-rise tower block and starring Geoff Bell (War
Horse) alongside a cast picked from some of the best
young British acting talent. Studiocanal will release
the film in the UK and Entertainment One has acquired for
France.
The latest addition to AV's roster is road-trip
thriller The Liability. The story
of a veteran hitman and his young driver is currently in
post-production. The cast includes Tim Roth (Lie
To Me, Pulp Fiction), Talulah Riley (St Trinians
1 & 2, Pride & Prejudice), Jack O'Connell
(Harry Brown, Eden Lake) and Peter Mullan (War
Horse, Tyrannosaur).
Next up, AV will produce Gladiators Vs Werewolves, an
explosive battle between the deadliest trained fighters
of ancient Rome and a ferocious tribe of savage werewolves. The
first part of the trilogy, entitled Edge of Empire, is
due to commence production in the last quarter of 2012
with Rob Green directing, supported by the Special Effects
talents of Shaune Harrison (Harry Potter & the
Half-Blood Prince; Harry Potter & the Order of the
Phoenix; Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire) and
Second Unit Director Peter Field (Quantum of Solace;
Troy; Lara Croft:Tomb Raider).
AV Pictures will also produce at the end of 2012 an $18m
adaptation in Australia of the explosive novel 'Balefire'.
